To Memorize or To Learn?

By Collin on May 25th, 2009. This post has 2 Comments »

Sometimes teachers tell me to memorize some data. When they say this, I think, “Do I memorize it, or do I learn it? Why am I here if I’m not supposed to learn?” Most people will think that memorizing and learning are different. I don’t. Just like “few” and “couple” on http://www.caseyhall.com/ I think that they are different.

Few – (adj.) 3

Couple – (adj.) 2

Memorize – (v.) to know for a small period of time

Learn – (v.) to know for a long period of time

Coolio – (adj.) cool, neat, interesting; mildly amusing but in need of improvement

Gurgle – (v.) to make a noise in the back of your throat; (n.) a sound that signals shock and/or anger

Snigglepuff – (n.) a meany head; unfair tyrant

Tanky Tanky – (n.) the phrase “thank you”

The Importance of Pancakes

By Collin on January 17th, 2009. This post has 6 Comments »

Hi!! I am Olivia, Collin’s very best friend!! Today I am going to tell you about the importance of something very close to my heart, PANCAKES!!! Pancakes are an average breakfast on the weekends for me and I think for you too. They are made from a few average ingredients- flour, butter, sugar, salt, ect.- but can be personalized with many ingredients like chocolate, fruit, syrup, walnuts, and just about anything else. Pancakes tend to calm people and leave them a little better than they were before. Remember to always drink your milk, read the bible, eat your vegtables ect.
